Videogame sales drop in October by 25%

The American gaming market isn't looking too healthy, as software sales have dropped by a whopping 25% in October compared to the same month a year before. Data from the NPD Group was released late on Thursday which highlights the concerning drop.

Hardware sales are also said to have dropped by 37% in the same period.

Big sellers in the last couple of months include NBA 2K13, Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, FIFA Soccer 13, Madden NFL 13 and Nintendo's new versions of Pokemon Black And White.

Upcoming games in the coming months look set to drive sales on the PC side. Call Of Duty Black Ops II is out on STEAM on November 13th and on November 19th Hitman Absolution is available. Black Ops II is already on the Top Seller list on STEAM as people are preordering in preparation for release in the coming days.
