Apple are expected to launch a new MacBook Air at an event later today, and also give fans a peak at the new Mac OS X operating system.
Apple are apparently going to be using a press conference to showcase the new Air, OSX 10.7 – code named ‘Lion’, as well as new versions of iWork and iLfe productivity and lifestyle software suites.
Insiders have said that the new MacBook Air will have a 50 percent bigger battery, giving up to 10 hours battery life and will weight less than the current model (1.3kg). The new SSD system will also give immensely fast boot up times and system responsiveness.
Press invites were sent out a few days ago with the picture of a Lion on the invite, hinting at the naming convention of the upcoming operating system – It has always been Apple’s policy to name OSX versions as ‘cat’ names.
