Two Samsung Windows Phone 8 devices leak in court documents

Samsung has perhaps mistakenly unveiled two potential Windows Phone 8 devices through court documents this week. The Odyssey and Marco were contained in documents submitted as part of the ongoing Samsung vs Apple legal battles.

The Odyssey is at the higher end of the spectrum while the Marco will be a little smaller. Both will have LTE and HSPA+ connectivity and the same Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipset. This is the same dual core processor we have already seen on the American versions of the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III.

The Odyssey will have a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED “UT” display. I'm not sure what the UT stands for but Samsung has used the term before to on its displays to note ultra thin bezels. It will have a 8 MP rear facing camera and a 2 MP webcam for video calls. Samsung also marks the Odyssey as a NFC capable device.

On the lower end of the scale the Marco will have a 4.0 inch WVGA (480×800) Super AMOLED display, a 5 MP rear facing camera and a 2 MP on the front.

Juding from the leaked image of the document, these phones will launch sometime in the final quarter of 2012, which falls in line with when we expect Windows Phone 8 to launch.

KitGuru says: Will phones like these make Windows Phone 8 a success? Only time will tell.
