LG G4 Smartphone Review

battery
As I previously mentioned, LG have included a 3000 mAh capacity battery within the G4. While more than enough for a 1080p device, my initial thought was that a 3000 mAh battery may struggle to successfully powerful a Quad-HD display for a full day. It did better than expected, but perhaps not enough to dispel any criticism for using a 2560×1440 display.

In our phone tests we aim to simulate real world usage and see how different phones cope. As ever, that means I had WiFi/mobile data and auto-sync always enabled, using the automatic brightness setting. As such, I found the G4 could last a day, but only just. I would be coming home with the battery hovering around the 10% mark, so any late nights would mean the G4 is not going to last the distance.

If you were less picky about when your emails are delivered and so turned auto-sync off, the G4 could last much more comfortably. However, many people need their emails as they are coming in, for instance, so it is not a perfect compromise. Still, the option is there.

On the basis of that testing then, I feel satisfied my criticism of the QHD display is justified. I have no doubts a 1080p panel would look almost as good as the QHD display, while enabling the G4 to have a far superior battery life as there are over a million less pixels to power.
