Microsoft Surface Duo UK price slashed in half

Back in February, Microsoft finally brought its ambitious folding smartphone, the Surface Duo, to Europe for the first time. Unfortunately, UK pricing was much higher compared to the US, an issue that has now seemingly been rectified by a massive price cut.

Recently, the Microsoft Store listing for the Surface Duo was adjusted, cutting the starting price down from £1350 to a much more sensible £679.00. That starting price is for the 128GB version, there is also a 256GB version on sale for £729, after a massive £720 price cut.

The Surface Duo is Microsoft's take on the foldable smartphone, offering two 5.6-inch AMOLED displays, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB of RAM. The phone runs a pretty clean version of Android too, albeit with Microsoft first-party apps installed, like Office 365.

Currently, Microsoft plans to support the Surface Duo with Android updates for the next three years, so users can expect to be upgraded to Android 12 sometime after it releases.

KitGuru Says: I've always been intrigued by the Surface Duo but at launch prices, the novelty didn't seem worth it. Now after a near 50% price cut, perhaps Microsoft will be able to move a few more units.
