Monster Hunter Wilds open beta begins next week

Capcom has announced the next wave of details for Monster Hunter Wilds. If you are eager to jump into the next-generation Monster Hunter game as soon as possible, then you'll want to get ready for next week's beta.

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta will be an open one, so all fans can install the game, just as long as you own a suitably powerful gaming PC, or an Xbox Series X/S or PS5 console. Due to a partnership with Sony, PS5 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription will get first dibs, starting on the 28th of October. The beta will then open up to those on all platforms starting on the 31st of October.

The beta will support cross-platform multiplayer, so if you are struggling to take a beast down, you will be able to group up with friends from any platform to finish the job. In terms of content, players will have access to the full character creator, a small section of the game's story quests, and one free-roaming Doshaguma hunt. Your beta character can carry over to the final game when it comes out.

Monster hunter Wilds is due to release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 28th of February.

With rumours claiming that Sony is looking to once again re-enter the market, it is time we looked back to the portable PlayStation’s past successes, failures, and lessons (hopefully) learned for what (and what not) to do.
