Ark: Survival Ascended is getting one more expansion before Ark 2

Despite being announced five years ago, we have still yet to see the release of Ark 2. Studio Wildcard has bridged the gap over the last couple of years with the release of Ark: Survival Ascended, a remake of the first game in Unreal Engine 5. Now, a new expansion for that remake is set to give fans a preview of what to expect from Ark 2.

Ark: Lost Colony, the first new expansion for Ark: Survival Ascended, is coming out this November. The expansion will feature new animated cutscenes from renowned anime studio, MAPPA.

The expansion will take players to a “vast occupied city” to obtain new abilities, unique gear and access new creatures and building features. Story-wise, the campaign will bridge the gap between Ark 1 and Ark 2, which is likely to now come out in 2026, when the roadmap for Lost Colony ends.

There is no official release date for Ark 2 at this time. Previous attempts at meeting a release window resulted in lengthy delays.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
