Helldivers 2 gets cowboy-themed Warbond with hover pack and more

Since its release last year, Arrowhead Game Studios have kept Helldivers 2 fresh and active thanks to continued support through the addition of new weapons, stratagems, enemies and more. The latest update – dubbed the ‘Borderline Justice Warbond’ – introduces a ton of cool new weapons and mechanics, including the ‘LIFT-860 Hover Pack’.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Katherine Baskin, the community manager for Arrowhead, wrote: “Howdy, Helldivers! Have you ever wanted to be a space cowboy, enforcing the fair laws of Super Earth on the edges of our galaxy, protecting our most remote colonies from undemocratic threats? Then step up, pardner, and claim your sheriff’s star with the new premium Warbond: Borderline Justice!”

With that, the team officially unveiled the upcoming update. Set to go live tomorrow on the 20th of March, this new premium Warbond (which can of course be obtained through in-game currency) introduces the following:

  • Two armour sets
  • Deadeye Primary Weapon (lever-action hunting rifle)
  • Talon Sidearm (energy-based revolver)
  • TED-63 Dynamite
  • LIFT-860 Hover Pack
  • Sample Extricator booster
  • Various cosmetics

While already a rather exciting update, the new hover pack in particular could offer a ton of new ways to navigate the battlefield – both for traversal and combat.

With such gameplay-altering mechanics/equipment continuing to be added to the game, Helldivers 2 is managing to remain fresh and exciting over one year on from its launch.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
