PRAGMATA launches to record-breaking playercounts for a brand new Capcom IP

PRAGMATA had been a long time coming, with the unique sci-fi 3rd-person tactical shooter first being announced prior to the launch of the PlayStation 5. In the years since, the game was delayed multiple times, before finally landing on an April 2026 release date. It appears as though PRAGMATA was worth the wait, with the title launching to record-breaking player counts for a new Capcom IP on Steam.

Half a decade on from its initial announcement, Capcom’s PRAGMATA finally landed on PC and consoles this past weekend, amassing high praise from both fans and critics alike.

Despite being a single player experience, the game also managed to achieve high player numbers, showing clear interest in this unique offering.

With a peak Steam concurrent player count of just under 69K (68,687 CCU to be exact), PRAGMATA is officially the most popular new IP from the publisher on the platform.

PRAGMATA Steam

While far from the heights of Monster Hunter Wilds (1.38 million CCU) or the recently-released Resident Evil Requiem (344K CUU), PRAGMATA has managed to beat out its contemporary Capcom-developed IPs including Exoprimal (4,995 CCU) and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (2,038 CCU).

Even so, Capcom’s bread and butter is in its established IPs and so PRAGMATA’s achievement is certainly worthy of note.

With a record-breaking peak CCU and an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ review score on Steam, it seems clear that PRAGMATA was indeed worth the wait. It will be interesting to see whether Capcom has any future plans for this possible franchise.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
