Memtest86+ version 6.00 brings support for Intel 13th Gen and AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs

Due to its ability to be booted as an operating system, Memtest86+ has become one of the most recommended tools to check memory stability. Despite its status, the last non-beta version was released nine years ago. That has now changed, as the developer launched a new update introducing support for new processors such as the Intel 13th Gen Core and AMD Ryzen 7000 chips.

Developed by Martin Whitaker, Memtest86+ v6.00 is based on the Memtest86+ major release (v5). The new version supports x64, UEFI, up to 256 cores, and virtually any memory, from SDRAM to DDR5. That means it supports the latest CPU architectures, including the Intel 13th Gen Core and AMD Zen 4 chips, namely the Ryzen 7000 series.

The complete v6.00 patch notes can be found below:

  • Rewrite code for UEFI 32 & 64 bits
  • Add support for x64 Long Mode Paging
  • Add support for up to 256 cores
  • Add detection for DDR4 & DDR5
  • Add support for XMP 3.0
  • Add detection for AMD Zen 1/2/3/4
  • Add detection for Intel up to 13th Gen
  • Add better support for AMD pre-ZEN CPUs
  • Add support for older Nvidia and AMD chipsets
  • Add support for SDRAM
  • Many enhancements
  • Numerous bug fixes & optimization
