Mushkin announce new Sandforce powered SSD

Muskin, best known for their range of memory products have announced their entry into the thriving SSD marketplace with a new product called The Callisto. This series delivers impressive performance figures, which is no surprise as they use the SandForce SF-1200 controller. These drives are apparently able to achieve read speeds up to 285MB/s and write speeds up to 275MB/s, which if totally accurate are astounding.

They plan on releasing various sizes in the 60gb,120gb and 240GB sectors and all of these drives come with a three year warranty for peace of mind. They have wear levelling onboard to help prevent an early death under heavy use. The drives are already available from Muskin's store and the 60gb base model is retailing for around $220 dollars (£147).

KitGuru says: Want speed? then these might just be the tool for the job.
