Stellar Blade gets free Holiday update

Stellar Blade has been one of the biggest surprise hits of 2024, with the PS5 exclusive garnering a strong fanbase within a relatively short amount of time. While PC players will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the game, studio SHIFT UP have released a surprise holiday-themed update for Stellar Blade – Available now.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Shift Up’s ‘DongKi Lee’ said “Experience the magic of the holidays in Stellar Blade. Xion, adorned with warm, festive lights, is ready to welcome you with the spirit of hope and humanity. Join us for a special event designed to bring joy and comfort to your everyday life. A Xion filled with seasonal romance awaits you on December 17!”

Full details on the update can be found HERE, but some of the more notable additions include:

  • A christmas makeover for the city of Xion
  • New Winter themed background music
  • New mini-game with rewards
  • Full suite of Santa/christmas-themed outfits/gear for Eve
  • Rudolph Pack cosmetic for the Drone

One highly welcome addition with this update is the ability to toggle all of the seasonal content on or off in the settings with ease, meaning you can enjoy the original experience if you so desire – or can turn on the Christmas lights during the heat of Summer. The choice is yours.

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
