While we have yet to get any details surrounding Stellar Blade 2, studio SHIFT UP have confirmed that we will learn about the sequel “within the year.”

In a surprise announcement, Stellar Blade studio SHIFT UP revealed that they have fully acquired Shinji Mikami’s brand new studio UNBOUND.

Starting life as a PS5 exclusive, SHIFTUP studio’s Stellar Blade is set to come to even more platforms following its PC release last year.

According to an analytics firm, SHIFT UP’s 2024 hit Stellar Blade has reportedly sold over 6 million copies since its launch in Summer 2024.

Following a year of PlayStation 5 exclusivity, Stellar Blade (from studio SHIFTUP) launched on PC last week to huge numbers – selling over 1 million copies almost immediately and breaking records for Sony on Steam. It therefore comes as little surprise that according to new reports, a Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade appears to be on its way.

In just 3 days, Stellar Blade sold over 1 million copies on Steam, pushing total units across both PC and PS5 to 3 million.

In the days following its PC release, Stellar Blade has broken records, becoming the biggest single player PlayStation title on PC with nearly 200,000 CCU.

The last couple of PlayStation-published PC titles, like Spider-Man 2, Until Dawn and The Last of Us 2, have failed to garner headlines.
