Phasmophobia sells 1 million copies on console – pushing the game to 22 million

Phasmophobia hit it big back in 2020 when the game was released in Early Access, launching to near immediate success. In the years since, the team at Kinetic Games have continued to work diligently on the game, improving it across the board. Finally, after multiple delays, Phasmophobia has come to consoles – selling over 1 million copies in its first month.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team at Kinetic Games revealed this impressive milestone, saying “Today marks 35 days since the Steam smash hit Phasmophobia entered early access on consoles. Developer and Publisher, Kinetic Games, lauded for their community engagement and understanding, announces that the console versions have now sold one million copies.”

Phasmophobia million

In total, since its early access release, the game has managed to sell over 22 million copies, putting it just shy of the top 50 best-selling titles of all time.

For the uninitiated, Phasmophobia was initially intended to come to consoles all the way back in 2023, though was unfortunately delayed due to an office fire.

Following this, the game encountered further issues with being ported to consoles – and so to see it finally releasing to such strong sales is undoubtedly encouraging. It will be interesting to learn how many copies will have been sold by the time the game leaves Early Access.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
