Baldur’s Gate 3 gets official mod support on PC next week

Larian has been hard at work on the long-awaited Seventh major patch for Baldur's Gate 3 for months. Now, the update is finally ready, and will begin rolling out on PC next week.

The biggest part of this update is the introduction of official mod support, as well as a modstore within the game, similar to the Creation Store in Bethesda titles like Fallout 4 and Starfield. However, PC gamers will also be able to download mods not available on the official platform via websites like Nexus Mods. Mods on Larian's platform will be subject to some restrictions, as these mods will also need to work on Xbox and PS5 – which will be getting Path 7 at a later date.

Patch 7 will also include split-screen updates, new combat improvements, new endings for evil playthroughs – including one heavily inspired by Berserk, as well as various other bug fixes and improvements.

We're still awaiting the fully detailed patch notes, which should arrive next week around the time the patch drops.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully this major update won't take too long to reach consoles for those players. Are any of you still going through Baldur's Gate 3? I've been hoping to jump back in for a new playthrough, and it sounds like next week will be a perfect time to do so.

While this has worked in the past, Black Ops 7 seems to have been a breaking point for some. According to known insiders, Microsoft is now considering a major shake-up, including a standalone Zombies game.
