Halo: Campaign Evolved tipped for July release

It sounds like Halo: Campaign Evolved will be releasing much sooner than expected. The game was announced last year, with a vague 2026 release window but recent leaks point to a July release date.

In a cryptic tweet, dataminer @grunt.api revealed that Halo Campaign Evolved may be playable as early as July 23rd for premium edition pre-order buyers, followed by a wider release to all players and Game Pass subscribers on July 28th.

Halo Campaign Evolved is a modern rebuild of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign inside of Unreal Engine 5. It keeps the structure and narrative of the 2001 release but reworks levels, AI behaviour, combat flow and visuals to bring the experience in line with modern shooters.

Recently, it was also claimed that the new remake may also include a few extra campaign missions that expand lore and introduce enemies that were not originally present in the first Halo game.

KitGuru Says: At this point in my life, I have played Halo 1 too many times on both Xbox and PC to really get excited for this remake. However, if you are someone who grew up with a PlayStation and never had the opportunity to play this campaign from start to finish, this should be worth picking up.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
