Switch 2 reportedly not arriving until the next fiscal year

After many years of rumours, speculation and anticipation, Nintendo finally confirmed back in May that they would be officially announcing the Switch’s successor at some point during the current fiscal year (ending 31st March 2025). While this may still be the case, it seems the system itself won’t be available to purchase until the following fiscal year.

As reported by Christopher Dring during the Gamesindustry.biz Microcast, the insider revealed that “no developer I've spoken to expects it to launch in this financial year, in fact they've been told not to expect it in this financial year. A bunch of people I spoke to hope it's out in April/May time still early next year not late.”

As mentioned, Nintendo themselves confirmed that the Switch successor will be announced sometime this fiscal year, with many expecting it to be around the same period as the original Switch.

That said, given the fact that the OG Switch launched back in March of 2017, it seems Nintendo is taking a slightly different yet similar strategy with the upcoming Switch successor.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this release window? Is Nintendo keeping the OG Switch alive for too long? What month do you think the system will actually release? Let us know down below.
