Geforce Now will limit subscribers to 100 hours of use per month

Nvidia’s Geforce Now is arguably the best game streaming service available, letting players experience hundreds of games at a great visual quality and relatively low input latency. Unfortunately, the service is about to get a whole lot worse, with both old and new subscribers alike set to see harsh limits placed on the total allowable number of hours it can be used per month to just 100.

As part of the latest Geforce Now update – which added 7 new titles available to stream – Nvidia confirmed that they will be bringing some major (negative) changes to the service.

While the service’s mid-tier Priority subscription (which has now been renamed to ‘Performance’) will see some neat upgrades including 1440p and ultrawide support, the service as a whole is set to be nerfed massively, with the company revealing that:

“At the start of next year, GeForce NOW will roll out a 100-hour monthly playtime allowance to continue providing exceptional quality and speed — as well as shorter queue times — for Performance and Ultimate members.”

Geforce Now 100

According to Nvidia, this change shouldn’t impact 94% of the current members. That said, if you do go past the 100 hour mark in a month, the performance tier subscribers can purchase an extra 15 hours for $2.99 – with Ultimate members needing to shell out an additional $5.99.

Current subscribers will still be able to enjoy unlimited streaming time for now, though this ‘loyal member benefit’ only extends to the end of 2025.

Given the fact that just 6% of subscribers go over the 100 hour mark, it makes little sense why Nvidia would choose to gimp its service in order to save what is likely a relatively small amount of data usage in the grand scheme of the service. Hopefully this decision is ultimately rolled back.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
