Ambitious Elder Scrolls: Oblivion remake ‘Skyblivion’ to launch in 2025

Elder Scrolls fans have been waiting for over a decade to see the Skyblivion mod completed. The mod, which rebuilds The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in Skyrim with enhanced graphics, is reportedly set to get a full release later this year.

The TESRenewal modding group, a team of volunteers that have been working on bringing a playable version of Oblivion to Skyrim since 2016, has posted a new video detailing their roadmap for the next year. The main takeaway? The team is ready to double down and push the mod to release this year.

Skyblivion arriving this year could be quite interesting timing, as recent rumours have also claimed that Microsoft is due to announce a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, using Unreal Engine 5, rather than Bethesda's Creation Engine, which has powered all of the previous Elder Scrolls titles since Morrowind.

There is no official release date yet, but if you are a fan of Oblivion, you should keep an eye out for updates as we're bound to get more information over the next few months.
