River City Girls 2 is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, the Epic Games Store gives away a title or two as part of the platform holder’s ‘free game’ program. Available to claim from today, Epic is currently giving away the fun co-op beat ‘em up River City Girls 2 alongside the contemplative and deep 1995 PC classic I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

Available to add to your library from today at 4PM until next Thursday the 9th of July, this week’s free Epic Games Store offerings include the following:

River City Girls 2 is a fun co-op side-scrolling beat ‘em up inspired by old-school arcade classics – with the series itself being a spin-off of the 80s Kunio-kun (River City) franchise.

Released in 2022, the sequel built upon its predecessor, expanding the game while adding 4-player co-op. Unfortunately, the game did suffer from various issues at launch. Of course, we are many years removed from its release, and so now is as good a time as any to check out River City Girls 2 with a friend or three.

I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream meanwhile is a 1995 classic PC point-and-click adventure game. Based on Harlan Ellison’s iconic short story from 1967, this adaptation was developed with Ellison directly – writing the game’s 130-page script while also offering his voice to the primary antagonist, the AI computer ‘AM’.

Both River City Girls 2 and I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream are free to claim from today, and will then remain in your library ‘forever’.
