Alan Wake 2’s Control-oriented expansion ‘The Lake House’ arrives in October

When Alan Wake 2 launched last year, Remedy also announced plans for two expansions. We've already seen the first DLC, but for many Remedy fans, all eyes have been on the second DLC, The Lake House, due to its connection to Remedy's other cross-universe title, Control. Now, we finally have a release date for The Lake House.

Remedy Entertainment will roll out The Lake House DLC for Alan Wake 2 in October, around the base game's one-year anniversary. The trailer already teases some of the Control cross-over elements, as Remedy continues to flesh out its shared universe.

Set on the shores of Cauldron Lake, players will encounter the Federal Bureau of Control once again, with the discovery of a research centre, The Lake House. As you would expect, a catastrophic event took place here, causing a split in reality and allowing forces from The Dark Place to enter our dimension.

The expansion is set during the events of the main game and will put players in the shoes of a brand new character, FBC agent, Kiran Estevez.

Alongside this DLC, Remedy Entertainment has been very busy with other projects, including Control 2, which is nearing the production phase, according to the studio's last roadmap update. Additionally, Remedy has remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2 on the way, in collaboration with Rockstar.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
