The Elder Scrolls Online has earned $15M every month since 2014

While The Elder Scrolls Online doesn't make as many headlines as some other MMOs on the market, it has been a hugely successful venture for Zenimax Online. Back in April, we learned through a GDC talk that the game had earned around $2 billion in lifetime sales. Since then, other stats have come to light on the subscription side of the game, with TESO having earned $15 million per month (on average) since launch. 

The Elder Scrolls Online first launched on PC in April 2014. As part of the game's ten year anniversary, some of the developers began talking up their achievements during that time period. During a GDC talk, Zenimax Online Studios director, Matt Firor, confirmed that the game has generated close to $2 billion in revenue since then, equating to roughly $200 million per year on average.

Now, Gary Boodhoo, a former UX designer at ZeniMax Online Studios has revealed on LinkedIn that during his time working on ESO, the game was driving $15 million in monthly revenue over the past ten years, through subscription sales and the Crown Store.

With all of that in mind, The Elder Scrolls Online is one of Zenimax's most successful games ever, something that no doubt spurred the publisher's larger focus on multiplayer games prior to the Microsoft acquisition, with projects like Fallout 76, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Deathloop and Redfall.
