Summer Game Fest 2025 has been officially announced

Following the death of E3, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest has become the de facto Summer showcase, with much of the industry throwing their support behind the annual event. Following the successful conclusion of the show’s 5th year, Keighley has unsurprisingly confirmed that a 2025 edition of the showcase will be happening.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Keighley officially confirmed that SGF will return next year, saying “We're thrilled to announce that #SummerGameFest will return to Los Angeles in June 2025, including Play Days from @iam8bit and a livestreamed showcase event that fans can attend. Together with the industry, we will continue to build what's next.”

No specific date was given, but with the past 3 shows starting on the 12th, 11th and 10th of June respectively, expect next year’s event to take place during the first half of the month.

While nothing can quite capture the magic of E3 during its prime, Keighley and co. seem to be doing their best to bring the Summer hype to fans of video games across the globe.

Insider claims Call of Duty could see a massive shake-up including no more annual releases

For pretty much its entire existence, Call of Duty has operated using a familiar model, with the FPS franchise seeing a brand new title released on an annual basis from one of the 3 core COD studios. While this has worked in the past, Black Ops 7 seems to have been a breaking point for some. According to known insiders, Microsoft is now considering a major shake-up, including a standalone Zombies game.
