Silent Hill 2 Remake arrives in October

After going a decade without any new releases, Konami has finally returned to the Silent Hill franchise, with their first major title being the upcoming remake of the classic Silent Hill 2. Much of the pre-release marketing has been met with somewhat mixed results. Luckily, those looking forward to experiencing the remake of this classic first hand will be able to do so this October.

Announced during last night’s State of Play (and expanded upon in its own showcase after the fact), Konami officially revealed the release date for the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

After much speculation on whether the game would launch in 2024 or not, the team have now officially confirmed that the game will arrive this October – on the 8th to be specific.

While the trailers showcase a game which appears just a step below Capcom’s Resident Evil Remakes – polish-wise – the devs at Bloober Team look to have created what will undoubtedly be a rather spooky experience. Hopefully it lives up to the original.

While this has worked in the past, Black Ops 7 seems to have been a breaking point for some. According to known insiders, Microsoft is now considering a major shake-up, including a standalone Zombies game.
