40-minute Nintendo Direct announced

With Summer Game Fest having come and gone, a majority of developers and publishers have already shown off what they currently have in the works.  Fortunately, Nintendo is about to keep the Summer vibes going, having now announced their next Nintendo Direct.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Nintendo UK page said “Join us for a #NintendoDirect livestream focused on #NintendoSwitch games coming in the second half of 2024! There will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”

The stream will go live later today on the 18th of June at 3pm BST and is said to be around 40 minutes long – rather meaty for a Nintendo showcase.

It would also appear as though this will be a general Direct, meaning fans can expect quite a few first-party announcements to say the least.

Of course, as expected, the Switch 2 will not make an appearance here, and so it seems this Direct will be the final hurrah for what has become one of Nintendo’s most successful products ever.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
