Star Citizen’s latest ship bundle costs over £46,000

Star Citizen is well known for its crowdfunding campaign back in the day, but the game has made much more money through its ships, available for purchase individually with prices ranging from the cost of another game, all the way into the thousands of dollars. CIG is now offering its most expensive purchase yet for Star Citizen, with a $48,000 ship bundle.

The new Legatus bundle has appeared on the Star Citizen website with a whopping $48,000 price tag. For that money, you get 175 ships, which works out to just under $275 per ship, which is almost equally as insane. Of course, this bundle includes a mix of high-end ships that would cost far more than $275, as well as the cheaper options available at much more reasonable prices. In the UK, the bundle costs just over £46,000.

Buyers of this bundle will unlock some future content too that have yet to release. No matter how you look at it though, this is an astronomical price tag for in-game DLC content.

It is worth noting that ships in the game can also be bought with in-game credits, earned through normal gameplay. However, you would need to sink a lot of hours in to be able to afford the more expensive options.

KitGuru Says: I'm sure those in the Star Citizen bubble who are used to the game's highly priced ships and want to support the game through to a 1.0 release, won't have a huge issue with this bundle. However, to an outsider it will rightfully look crazy.
