Astro Bot will get free DLC post-launch

Astro Bot was by far the biggest reveal from Sony’s recent State of Play Showcase, with the 3D platformer seemingly set to take the crown from the long-reigning champion of platformers – Mario. Arriving in just a few months, the team at Asobi have confirmed that Astro Bot will be getting a bunch of free DLC after launch.

In an interview with IGN, Team Asobi’s studio head Nicolas Doucet spoke on a number of topics, from the fact that they were given complete freedom to include any and all PlayStation characters, to the revelation that the game will be getting free DLC; adding new levels beyond the 80 which will be included at launch.

According to Doucet, the free DLC will arrive “soon” after launch, and will be “based around adding more challenge levels to the game” – though there will be more to it than just that.

Astro Bot is looking to be one of the best games of the year, and with free DLC promised to be arriving quickly following launch, Astro Bot’s full console debut could very well be something quite special.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
