Cherry unveiled a range of MX switches at Computex 2024. In addition to its new MX 2.0 low-profile switches, it also unveiled the new MX Silent Clear, the revamped MX Orange, and the MX Multipoint analogue induction switches, which will be available in three variants: linear, linear heavy, and progressive.
The MX Silent Clear is Cherry's first noise-dampened tactile switch, explicitly designed for the high-end mechanical productivity keyboard market. Featuring a new dampening mechanism, the MX Silent Clear switches provide an optimal environment for low-noise typing in the workplace. These are being launched in collaboration with Ducky, so expect to see them on the Taiwanese company's keyboards soon.
Then, there's the MX Orange, a new version of a classic switch from the 1980s, now adapted for gamers. It combines a traditional linear design with new MX2A technology to deliver reliable key input and a long service life, meeting the high expectations of PC gamers.
Cherry's last “traditional” mechanical switches shown at Computex were the MX Low Profile 2.0, which addressed the market's need for more low-profile switch variety. Building on the success of its original MX LP switches, Cherry has expanded the product line to include upgraded red and speed linear variations, a new ivory linear switch for office keyboards, and the MX LP Clear, Cherry's first tactile low-profile switch.
In addition, the company is showcasing a preview of its new MX Multipoint, Cherry's first analogue induction switch, which is available in three forms: linear, linear heavy, and progressive. These will be integrated into Ducky and Varmillo products first, with plans for a larger-scale launch at the beginning of 2025.
