Sony’s surprise State of Play announcements may have leaked hours ahead of time

Later this evening, Sony will be going live with its latest State of Play stream, during which we will see 14 new games announced for PS5 and PlayStation VR2. As usual, most of the trailers due to be shown have already been uploaded to YouTube in unlisted or privatised form, and due to that, much of what will be shown has already leaked.

If you don't want to sit through the showcase at 11PM BST this evening, then you can get a quick breakdown of what is due to be shown right here. There are two leaks in total, the first comes from a familiar source, Nick Baker of Xbox Era, who has leaked some showcase announcements ahead of time in the past.

According to Baker, a few of the games we'll see during State of Play today include a new game called ‘Where the Winds Meet', as well as the Until Dawn Remake, the new Astro Bot game, Monster Hunter Wilds, Concord and a new Aliens VR game. It is also claimed that the PC version of God of War: Ragnarök will also be announced today.

The second leak comes from a smaller Spanish reporter, Leakeo De Proximidad, who claims that we will also see a new Dynasty Warriors game, a new Five Nights at Freddy's game, Path of Exile 2, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Phantom Blade Zero, and Marvel Rivals. Apparently, there may also be a surprise 15th title announced.

KitGuru Says: We'll see just how accurate all of this is during State of Play at 11PM tonight. In the meantime though, this does feel like a reasonable list of reveals. However, I would have also thought that we'd see something from Insomniac, like a Spider-Man 2 DLC. Given that Sony's biggest game this year has been Helldivers 2, I also would have thought that Arrowhead would have a little something to show.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
