AMD unveils new Ryzen 8040 series laptop processors

AMD has just launched its latest AMD Ryzen 8040 series mobile CPUs, with select models coming with integrated Ryzen AI NPUs, boasting up to 1.6 times greater AI processing performance compared to the previous generation.

In AMD's own benchmarks, it claims that the Ryzen 9 8945HS is up to 64 percent faster than the Core i9-13900H in video editing applications and up to 37 percent faster in 3D rendering. For gaming, the latest-gen Ryzen laptop chips are claimed to be up to 77 percent faster using integrated graphics.
