Hyper Light Breaker is now set to launch in Steam Early Access this Summer

Heart Machine, the developer behind Hyper Light Drifter, has announced that their upcoming co-op rogue-lite prequel, Hyper Light Breaker, will be released in early access on PC this summer.

After delaying Hyper Light Breaker twice, Heart Machine expects to launch the game on Steam Early Access in just a few months. This phase is planned to last about a year. There is no word yet on when console versions will be available.

Hyper Light Breaker is set before the events of Hyper Light Drifter. Unlike its predecessor, a top-down, single-player game, Hyper Light Breaker is a 3D rogue-lite title with an open world and co-op support. In the game, players control Breakers, mercenaries sent out to defeat the Abyss King. To accomplish this, Breakers must first defeat the Crowns, which can be unlocked by defeating Elite creatures.

As expected from a rogue-lite, the game features various playable characters, customisable loadouts with ranged and melee weapons, and various upgrades and prizes that can be carried over from one run to another.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
