More evidence points to upcoming RTX 4080 Super

Following the recent rumours about the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super, the upcoming graphics card has now been spotted on the PCI ID repository, a website where users can add new entries based on their knowledge and leaked information.

The recently added RTX 4080 Super entry was added by T4CFantasy, a GPU database administrator from TechPowerUp who has early access to GPU BIOS and GPU-Z validations. It is important to note that these entries may not necessarily reflect the final SKU. Despite this, with the ongoing rumours of a possible RTX 4080 Super with an AD103 GPU, this entry should not be ignored.

As a result of this update, the device PCI ID 2703 is now being proposed as the RTX 4080 Super. Furthermore, the lack of an AD102 GPU validation item indicates that such a variation is not presently in the works. Because 2703 is so close to the AD103-based RTX 4080 ID (2704), we believe this is also a desktop SKU. The RTX 4090 laptop (2717) and RTX A5000 Ada laptop (2730) GPUs, also based on AD103, are placed higher in the ID hierarchy.

According to VideoCardz, Nvidia has not shared the RTX 40 Super series specifications with board partners. As such, what we see now is based on rumours. We have not heard about a possible release date for these new GPUs. However, AIBs do not anticipate any new desktop GPU launches in 2023.
