Star Wars Outlaws may have been delayed

Ubisoft has had a big release planned for early 2024 for quite some time. While not confirmed to be Star Wars Outlaws, it was widely believed that Ubisoft's Star Wars game would be releasing earlier than expected, especially after the 10-minute gameplay reveal this summer. However, the game may have now been delayed.

As part of its recent earnings report, Ubisoft informed investors that it has projected earnings for the next quarter and those projections take into account that Ubisoft is no longer releasing “the other large game it has initially planned to launch” in early 2024. This mystery game is now expected in the next fiscal year, so its release could fall somewhere between April 2024 and March 2025.

While not directly named as Star Wars Outlaws, this game was widely rumoured to be coming in Q1 2024. Ubisoft does name the other games still releasing in this fiscal year, and that list includes Assassin's Creed Mirage, Skull and Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Just Dance 2024, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Assassin's Creed Nexus VR, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence and XDefiant.

Based on that rather full list of upcoming releases, combined with Ubisoft's list of announced upcoming titles, Star Wars Outlaws does appear to fit the bill as the game being referred to in the investor note.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
