AMD launches cost-effective EPYC 4004 series processors

AMD has debuted the new EPYC 4004 series of processors. Based on the Zen 4 architecture, EPYC 4004 chips will offer up to 16 cores, 128MB of cache, and clock speeds as high as 5.7GHz out of the box. 

Aimed at enterprise and datacentres, EPYC processors aren't for the regular consumer. These are the processors that power demanding sectors like cloud and datacentre. Specifically, EPYC 4004 targets leadership performance for small and medium businesses, at cost-effective price points.

Companies like Atlos, ASRock, Rack, Gigabyte, Lenovo, MSI, OVHcloud, Supermicro and Tyan are all set to offer EPYC 4004 chips in the months ahead.
