Starfield surpassed 1 million concurrent players at launch

As of yesterday, Starfield is now officially available to all across PC and Xbox. With the game being available through Game Pass, we were expecting some big launch-day player numbers and now the results are in, pointing to millions of players at launch.

According to the analysts at Play Tracker, Starfield accumulated 2 million players during the early access period, meaning many players did end up paying extra for the game's Premium Edition in order to play five days early. It is estimated that the game had over a million players on Steam during early access, as well as over a million players on Xbox.

As for yesterday's official launch day, it has been announced that Starfield had over a million concurrent players during day-one. We're almost certain we'll get more stats over the next couple of weeks once Microsoft has had a chance to analyse things like hours played, direct sales and game installations via Game Pass.

Launch day is just the beginning. Bethesda already has one DLC planned for Starfield and Pete Hines recently confirmed that it will explore additional ideas for new DLCs after launch.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
