Borderlands 3 announced for Switch alongside $150 bundle

Borderlands 3 is the latest mainline entry in the fun and frantic first-person looter shooter franchise. Originally released back in 2019, the game was added to pretty much every platform available (even Google Stadia) – every platform except for the Nintendo Switch. In a surprise announcement, Borderlands 3 and all its DLC will be coming to Nintendo’s aging platform next week.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the team at Gearbox said “Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition hits Nintendo Switch on October 6, with physical pre-orders available TODAY!”

Being the Ultimate Edition, this $60 release includes the base game alongside all of its post-launch DLC. The only limitation placed upon the Switch version seems to be the fact that both locally and online, the game only supports 2-player co-op (compared to 4 players on other platforms).

If that’s not enough Borderlands for you, PlayStation, Xbox and PC players can get their hands on the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box, which includes the games:

  • Borderlands
  • Borderlands 2
  • Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
  • Tales from the Borderlands
  • Borderlands 3
  • New Tales from the Borderlands

This collection retails for a whopping $149.99, though there is currently a launch discount which reduces it all the way down to a much more reasonable $59.99. This price is further reduced if you own any of the games included in the bundle (though discounts vary by system).

With Borderlands 3 being a late PS4/Xbox One generation title, it will be interesting to see how the game both looks and plays on the Nintendo Switch. We won’t have to wait long to find out.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
