Intel Arrow Lake-S CPUs to pack 50% more L2 P-Core cache

Intel is planning to debut the new Arrow Lake-S architecture next year. Expected to bring considerable improvements over Raptor Lake, Arrow Lake will feature new P- and E-cores known as Lion Cove and Skymont, respectively. Notably, the former is expected to have a significantly bigger L2 cache, hopefully bringing with it a healthy boost to performance.

The report comes from Golden Pig Upgrade (via @HXL), which has proven to be quite accurate in the past. We're told the next generation of Intel CPUs is expected to have a 50% increase in cache per P-core over 13th Gen Core and a 140% increase over the 12th Gen series. It's worth noting that the actual sizes of the E-core cluster cache and L3 cache have yet to be confirmed.

There are also reports claiming that Meteor Lake will feature a new type of cache that would work much like an L4 cache. This cache would be named Adamantine cache, but Intel has yet to confirm that detail. Seeing as Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake have more than a few similarities, we believe the latter would also feature this same type of cache.

Based on what we've heard, Arrow Lake-S CPUs will be based on the Intel 20A CPU node and feature Lion Cove (P-core) and Skymont (E-core) cores. These CPUs are expected to feature mobile and desktop variants, with both reportedly packing Xe-LPG-based iGPUs. The first Intel Arrow Lake-S products are expected to come out in H2 2024.
