Mortal Kombat 1 beta arriving in August

Following on from the official reveal of the game in May, NetherRealm has now announced its beta plans for Mortal Kombat 1. Ahead of the game's launch in September, there will be a closed beta taking place on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Unfortunately, it does not appear that there will be a beta for Switch or PC users.

The Mortal Kombat 1 beta is a closed beta, as it is only accessible to pre-order customers on the two primary console platforms for the game. There could potentially be a PC-only beta at some point but no plans for that have been announced at this time.

The Mortal Kombat 1 beta will take place from the 18th of August until the 21st. The game will officially release just one month later, on the 19th of September for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

After launch, a series of DLC characters will be added to the game, including guest characters like Homelander and Peacemaker, as well as returning fan favourites from the MK franchise.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
