The PS5 gets its first official price cut

While stock shortages have hampered the sales potential of the PS5 somewhat, the console has still sold a lot of units since launching in 2020 and this year, supply has greatly improved. With a potential new PS5 design revision on the way, Sony has now announced the first official price cut for the console.

Just as leaked earlier in the month, Sony is cutting a chunk off the PS5's price tag, bringing the price down to £399 at most retailers, including Amazon. The price cut is available in several European countries, the US & Canada as well as the UK.

The price cut is available at retailers like Amazon, as well as physical retail outlets like GAME. Sony is also offering the reduced price for orders through PlayStation Direct. The price cut will be temporary, but if you miss out this time, we are likely to see similar deals around Black Friday and Christmas this year.

In previous years, Sony did not offer PS5 price cuts during sales seasons, in part due to the fact that there wasn't enough supply to fuel a promotional campaign, with the console consistently being sold out through 2021 and 2022.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
