WD Blue SN580 SSD delivers PCIe 4 performance starting at £50

Today, the WD Blue line of SSDs is getting some time in the spotlight. The new WD Blue XN580 NVMe SSD has arrived, offering PCIe 4.0 performance starting at just over £50.

The WD Blue SN580 is a PCIe Gen 4 SSD purpose-built for creators and professionals. This is the first drive in the WD Blue line-up to feature nCache 4.0 technology, which enables faster copy speeds for large files and media assets with high burst write performance.

The SSD is available in the standard M.2 2280 form factor, with capacities starting at 250GB and going up to 2TB. For speeds, you'll be getting up to 4,150MB/s read/write speeds on the 1TB and 2TB models. The lower-capacity versions will have slightly lower read/write speeds.

The WD Blue SN580 is available starting today directly from the Western Digital store, with prices starting at £50.99 for the 250GB version in the UK. Each SSD comes with a 5-year warranty.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
