Leaker claims affordable non-X Ryzen 7000 CPUs will arrive in Q1

Recent rumours have suggested that AMD will launch more affordable non-X Ryzen 7000 processors in early 2023, potentially during CES. According to a new source, we'll have at least three new processors, with prices ranging from $229 to $429.

As reported by VideoCardz, a Twitter leaker claims that there will be at least three non-X processors coming in Q1, a Ryzen 9 7900, a Ryzen 7 7700 and a Ryzen 5 7600.

Assuming they'll have the same core and thread counts as their X counterparts, the Ryzen 9 chip will allegedly boost up to 5.4GHz, while the 8-core Ryzen 7 7700 goes up to 5.3GHz. Lastly, the 6-core Ryzen 5 maxes out at 5.1GHz. Overall, boost clock speeds are about 0.1-0.2GHz lower than the X chips. Additionally, it's worth noting that they should all come with a TDP of 65W.

As for pricing, it is claimed that the Ryzen 9 7900 will go for $429 at launch, around $120 lower than the Ryzen 9 7900X. The Ryzen 7 7700 is said to cost $329, around $70 less than the X version. Finally, the Ryzen 5 7600 may come in at $229, also $70 less than its X-series counterpart.

KitGuru says: Pricing has been an issue with the latest generation of CPUs and GPUs, and with new Intel Raptor Lake processors on the horizon, AMD is going to want to fill out its stack with competitive alternatives at each price point.
