Starfield finally gets a release date

The day has finally come – Bethesda and Microsoft have now confirmed that Starfield has been delayed again. For months there have been questions as to whether or not the game will be ready for its pre-June release window. It turns out the answer is no, but it won't be pushed back much further.

Today Bethesda confirmed that Starfield is now being moved to the second half of the year, with a new release date set as the 6th of September. Beyond that, Bethesda has also ended speculation on when we'll next see Starfield, confirming a Direct showcase.

Starfield Direct will be streamed live on Sunday the 11th of June, taking place immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase, which will also feature a number of updates from Bethesda. In the announcement video, Todd Howard teases that the team still has “so much to show” and given how large the game seems to be, we have no trouble believing that.

Starfield is now set to release for PC and Xbox Series X/S on the 6th of September 2023.
