Battlefield 2042 is coming to EA Play with the launch of Season 3

Battlefield 2042 might not have had the perfect launch, but since Respawn has taken control of the game's post-launch development, you can see it is in much better shape than it was. Each season, the development team makes considerable improvements, and with Season 3 and the introduction of classes to the game, there's no better time to check it out. The best part is that you'll be able to do it via EA Play because the game will be available once the new season drops.

The game has been available for over a year, and with the mild reception of the title, the news is not as surprising as it may seem at first. In addition, making the game easier to play is a good way to pull more gamers in, especially when Activision just released Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and will release Warzone on November 15th.

Adding the game to EA Play means Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can also play it as soon as it becomes available, further improving the amazing offering the gaming subscription already has. Moreover, EA stated there will be free Battlefield 2042 access periods on all platforms in December, so even if you're not signed up to any of these subscriptions, you can still try it at no extra cost.

As for what's coming in Season 3, besides the class system, the team will also revamp two existing maps (Manifest and Breakaway) and introduce a new specialist, a new map and more vault weapons (Bad Company 2's XM8 and BF3's A-91).

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
