Microsoft announces ‘Xbox Player Voice’ feedback program

As part of Microsoft’s attempt to revitalise the Xbox brand, the console maker has put a renewed focus on community engagement. In an effort to further this, the company has now announced its brand new ‘XBOX Player Voice’ program – “a new place to collect your feedback and make it more visible.”

Making the announcement via their Xbox Wire blog, the console maker officially unveiled their new XBOX Player Voice program, writing: “The community is at the heart of XBOX. Players have always told us what’s working and what’s not across XBOX. That feedback has shaped what we’ve built and how we prioritize our work. But we’ve also heard clearly that it isn’t always obvious what happens after you share your feedback.”

In response to this, Microsoft is now setting up the aforementioned Player Voice program; described as “a new place to collect your feedback and make it more visible”. This new method should allow fans to feel more involved in the evolution of Xbox, with each piece of feedback being responded to in one way or another – even if just through an acknowledgement of it being received and reviewed.

Of course, Microsoft made sure to note that “this doesn’t mean every piece of feedback will turn into a feature or result in a change,” however “better visibility helps close the gap between what you tell us and what you see happen next on XBOX.”

As it is a brand new service, the program is said to be “starting small and will learn as we go,” with promises that “the experience will evolve over time as we see what’s useful and where we can do better.”

We will have to wait and see whether this new program leads to any positive changes worthy of note, but it is welcome nonetheless to see Xbox trying to be more approachable. Full details on how to join the program can be found HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
