Intel Core i5-13600K trades blows with Ryzen 9 5950X in leaked benchmark

A newly found Core i5-13600K benchmark entry in Geekbench shows some promising results. As per the scores, the upcoming mid-range processors from Intel will contend with the Ryzen 9 5950X in multi-core workloads.

The benchmark entry found by Benchleaks shows a sample of the unreleased Intel Core i5-13600K installed on an Asus ROG Maximum Z690 Extreme with 32GB of memory. In the entry, we can also see the CPU will pack 14 cores (six P-cores and eight E-cores) and 20 threads capable of reaching 5.1GHz clock speeds.

In Geekbench's single-core test suite, Intel's mid-range chip scored 2,012 points, about the same as your average Core i9-12900K/KF. In the multi-core tests, the Core i5 CPU was pretty close to getting to the Ryzen 9 5950X's level, scoring 16,054 points – the average AMD Ryzen 9 5950X scores 16,500. That's quite impressive, considering this is a mid-range chip with fewer cores and threads.

Intel has not officially announced a launch date for its 13th Gen Core processors, but rumours indicate that an announcement will be coming in late September.
