Logitech is planning to launch a gaming handheld this year

Logitech is working on its own gaming handheld, but unlike the Steam Deck, which focuses on installing and running games locally, Logitech's handheld will primarily cater towards cloud gaming. 

In partnership with Tencent Games, Logitech G has announced plans to bring a cloud gaming handheld to market later this year. The device will combine Logitech's expertise in hardware with Tencent's knowledge of software and services. The device will support multiple cloud gaming services, including the likes of Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now.

Between those two services, you'll be able to stream most PC games you own to the handheld through GeForce Now, and you'll have access to your library of Xbox titles, as well as Xbox Game Pass if you are a subscriber. It sounds like Logitech is also planning to support other services, so we should expect to hear more in the months to come.

Unfortunately, despite plans to launch this year, Logitech has not yet shown the handheld, or revealed specs and software. If it is going to arrive this year, we should expect more details fairly soon.

KitGuru Says: There is still a lot to be confirmed, but Logitech's handheld does sound interesting. Whether there is a market for a dedicated cloud gaming handheld remains to be seen though, especially when devices like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck are dominating the market.
