Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been officially announced

We've been hearing rumours about a new, smaller-scale Assassin's Creed game for months. Previously known as Assassin's Creed Rift, this mystery game has now been officially announced as Assassin's Creed Mirage, and Ubisoft has now confirmed it will be the next game in the series.

Following on from leaks earlier this week, Ubisoft has now officially confirmed Assassin's Creed Mirage, announcing a proper reveal to take place on the 10th of September. The announcement also brings us our first official image from the game:

We've seen a number of leaks around this game, but some sources disagree on certain elements. There was a rumour that there would be multiple cities to explore, but that is apparently not true. However, the game will star Basim from Assassin's Creed Valhalla and will aim to take the series ‘back to its roots' with stealth-focused gameplay and less reliance on RPG mechanics.

While Assassin's Creed Mirage was initially targeting late 2022/early 2023, recent rumours hint that the game might not launch until Q2 2023, which would put it somewhere between April and the end of June.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
