Battlefield 2042 Season 2 ‘Master of Arms’ launches next week

Battlefield 2042's second season is starting next week, bringing new content alongside it. This season won't contain the big multiplayer class revision – that is being reserved for season 3. In the meantime, this season players can expect a new map, a new Specialist, and new unlockables to collect by completing challenges.

Named Master of Arms, Battlefield 2042's upcoming season was announced with a gameplay trailer to showcase the new features. Starting with the new map, Stranded is an infantry-focused map set in Panama. Most of the playable area is set in a lake without water, with a wrecked container ship at the centre. Renewal and Orbital are also getting tweaked with the new season.

In Stranded, players can travel using the new Polaris RZR off-road buggy, but that's not the only new vehicle coming. If you'd rather have something to defend yourself, the EBLC-RAM can be a nice option. This new heavy ground vehicle is quite mobile and armed, but its best feature may be the ability to drop spawn beacons.

Moving on to the new specialist, Charlie Crawford is the new addition to the line-up of playable characters in BF 2042. For their special skill, the upcoming specialist features a stationary minigun controllable by anyone on the battlefield. Besides the new specialist, the Masters of Arms season will also bring the AM40 carbine, the Avancys LMG, the PF51 sidearm, and the concussion grenade.

DICE is also introducing Vault Weapons, which are weapons once exclusive to Portal. However, they will now become available for you to use on All-Out Warfare after unlocking them. Initially, only the M60E4 and M16A3 will be available but expect more to come as the season progresses. Lastly, there are the Assignments, which let you unlock items from previous seasons, including specialists, weapons, gadgets, and vehicles.

Battlefield 2042 Season 2: Master of Arms will start on August 30th. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
