Valve’s Portal games are launching on Nintendo Switch today

Back in February during a Nintendo Direct, Valve announced that it would be bringing Portal and Portal 2 to the Nintendo Switch later this year as part of the Portal: Companion Collection. It has been months since then and we've had no official updates. Fortunately during today's Nintendo Direct Mini, the game was revealed once again and better yet, it is launching today.

Valve teamed up with Nvidia Lightspeed Studios to bring Portal and Portal 2 to the Nintendo Switch. For those who don't know, Nvidia Lightspeed Studios has aided in other game projects in the past, having brought Half-Life 2 to the Nvidia Shield, and aided on other projects like Quake RTX and Minecraft RTX.

For Portal: Companion Collection, Valve teamed up with Nvidia once again to help produce the port. Given that the Switch is powered by a custom Nvidia SoC, this choice makes perfectly good sense.

Portal: Companion Collection is available for the Nintendo Switch starting today, packing in the full single-player campaigns as well as Portal 2's co-op mode for $19.99.

KitGuru Says: Portal has been getting a lot of attention this year. Not only do we have this Switch re-release, but Valve also released a new short-form game set in the Portal universe that acts as a demo and tutorial for the Steam Deck and its controllers. Beyond that, there has also been growing support for Portal 3 within Valve's ranks, although the likelihood of Valve developing any game that ends in a 3 still remains slim.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
