From Software has a new game in ‘the final stages’ of development

From Software has had a great year so far, having released Elden Ring to great critical acclaim and positive reception from fans. In fact, Elden Ring is likely on its way towards winning many GOTY awards at the end of the year. As it turns out though, From Software has another secret project in the works, sparking rumours that a new Armored Core could be on the way after all these years.

In an interview with Japanese site, 4Gamer, From Software President, Hidetaka Miyazaki, confirmed that the studio has been working on a second game alongside Elden Ring and that it is “in the final stages” of development.

The interesting part about this is that the news comes just a few months after we last heard some buzz around a new Armored Core game. Such a project has been in and out of the rumour mill for years, but earlier this year, From Software sent out consumer surveys specifically asking for feedback on a new Armored Core, and even included screenshots and gameplay videos.

Given that a new Armored Core essentially leaked months ago, it seems likely that this is the project that Miyazaki is referring to. If the game is close to being finished, then it should also be close to announcement, so perhaps we'll see From Software show up at one of Geoff Keighley's upcoming events once again this year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
